Homelessness strips people down to a point of mere survival. While there are agencies set up to provide overnight shelter, food and other necessities there is a gap between those services and giving the homeless a place to truly feel like they belong. The Panhandle Adult Rebuilding Center (PARC) was created to address this gap.
The PARC was founded to provide a safe, clean place during the day where those experiencing homelessness could be called by name, find themselves again, and pursue life’s possibilities.
the PARC opened its doors for the first time on November 19, 2014. Since then, hundreds have come through and moved on to their “next” because of that foundation of acceptance and hope.
The demand for the PARC’s services has begun to exceed their current capacity, and in order to expand, the PARC has recently purchased additional property. The next step will be to renovate and continue expanding their services! The PARC’s current goal is to reach at least half of the homeless population in Amarillo, TX.
Our Commitment
Beginning in 2021 we began donating 10% of our sales to the PARC to support their work and mission. We especially love that art therapy is an important component of the PARC’s approach. We have been involved with volunteering for the PARC, and we hope that we can continue to support them and spread awareness of their incredible work through this connection with our art.
